Blood Moon 2014, Aries/Libra and finding balance

Im posting this in answer to a question on the Empath Life, regarding the Blood Moon and feelings of anger.

This year, we have played a fun dance with Libra and Aries. Weve had the first lunar eclipse in Libra back in April (month of Aries/Spring) and now the second lunar eclipse in Aries in October (the month of Libra/Autumn). We also entered North Node Libra back in February 2014 which will continue until November 2015. North node astrology is related to the orbital nodes of the moon; its often known as karmic astrology. If youve never looked up your north node, its easy to do online and its a great learning tool.

In north node astrology, there are two directions north and south. The south node represents those patterns and behaviors that you came in with and the north node represents the direction that you are to take in this lifetime. Not all the south node tendencies need to be left behind just the less desirable ones as you merge into the patterns of the north node.

Regardless, of your own personal north node astrology; we are all under the influence of the Aries/Libra dynamic this year and next. Libra is the peacemaker, the one who sees both sides of the situation. Aries is usually portrayed as the warrior but its also the initiator, the energy that breaths passion into whatever it focuses on. This dance of the two signs is tricky for Libra often overlooks the self, while focusing on others; while Aries has a tendency to be me first.

Whether youre looking at personal issues or world events, you can see these energies playing out. We are learning to find the balance between our needs and those of others. When we move into the negative Libra side, we become too indecisive, our energy spins around, but we dont get anywhere. We put everyones needs first and then wonder why we feel left out of the picture. When we are in the negative aspect of Aries; we think only of our self and our needs and wants. We get what we want but it comes with a heavy price.

The word duality is often brought up on the EC and nowhere is there a better example than these two signs. What we are looking for is a compromise, a blending of the two. Some of the best aspects of the Libra energy are; diplomacy, seeing all points of view, looking for creative solutions and imbuing the world with beauty. Some of the best aspects of Aries are; the courage to move forward, being the initiator, bringing passion and energy to the world, becoming the pioneer, the innovator, and being a warrior for others while still maintaining ones sense of self.

So, back to the Blood Moon; we are now experiencing this lunar eclipse in Aries. The effects of this, are not just being felt today but will continue for about two weeks. There is usually a build-up prior to the event and a shadow effect following this is also true for other astrological events such as Mercury Retrograde and Saturn Returns.

Those who have Aries either as a Sun or Moon sign will be feeling the effects more than others; but the energy will affect all of us. This is a powerful, heavy-hitter energy and its not exactly subtle. So, expect feeling more tense and angry than usual. This is a time when past issues may come up and you may start to get angry. While acting out isn't suggested, don't try to ignore the emotion. Anger is a way of letting you know that something is off and needs to be looked at. We know that when our bodies are in pain, they are sending us a signal that something needs to be corrected - same is true for anger.

For those who are Aries or are strongly influenced by it, watch out for accidents, in general. Aries are somewhat accident prone, especially around the head. Dont be surprised to be getting more headaches and aches around the head, such as teeth. Aries rules the head, so this is where you may be feeling the pressure.

This eclipse is not all bad, as it signals a time when all of us can use the fiery energy of the sign to make changes in our life. In numerology, we are in a 7 year; a time of movement and transformation, so harness the energy and see what you want to remove from your life and what you wish to create.

I'm a Libra so I felt compelled to read this andmy rising sign is Leo, dose that change any of what you wrote above? I really don't know much about astrology, my brother is they astrologer of the family. LOL

I'm afraid, I'm not an astrologer; some things I've learned from my psychic teacher but the whole thing about Aries/Libra, I know; because I own both of them.

What I wrote about, is karmic astrology, which many astrologers don't touch. The only information you need is your date of birth. For example, all babies born from 2/18/14 - 11/11/15 will be under North Node Libra and then the node position will move to another set of planets. There is always the north and south node to contend with. The tension between the two planets, is symbolic of the person's personality that they came in with and the direction they need to follow. So in addition to your own birth sign and moon sign - the nodes can be different planets.

The info on the nodes is easy to find - if you would like, you could send me a pm with your date of birth; month, date, year. I have the books and can look it up on the chart. Then its easy to get information just by goggling your particular north node.

Thanks for the information Pat, it is aninteresting subject. I was just curious!

I sent you a link, if you're interested. For anyone else in looking up their north node here is a line for an online chart. After finding your North Node under "sign" to the right of the dates, you can scroll down to find the corresponding south node.

I sincerely wish my brain was working today, as I forgot to mention why karmic astrology is helpful. If there is a behavior pattern that keeps occurring; for example, you lose your temper, or you let people walk all over you. When you say, "why does this always keep happening to me" - that is where karmic astrology is so helpful. We come in with a certain set of behaviors which may cause problems in our life; the secret in this astrology is to move in the opposite direction - to follow the north node (like following the north star).

Many, see themselves immediately in reading about the nodes. However, if you don't; it could be that you have worked through most of your patterns that have been holding you back.

Thanks Pat. That is probably one of the most interesting exercises I have done for a long time. TY!

Your welcome Robin. Hope it helps

Hi SnakeMedicine,

Thanks so much for the suggestion, I have never heard of a draconic chart but will look into it. For me, the battle with the North Node Libra is constant but that's due to my chart. I finally reached a point where I moved more to the Libra side and while that makes relationships easier, I discovered that the Aries side has been neglected, to the point that I have lost my passion and drive. A number of astrologers have noted that this node is one of the most difficult as the energies are so opposite - hitting and maintaining the balance is a constant struggle. I will look into the draconic chart and see if that will offer some clues for my north node

10/11/14 09:19:56PM @pat-starbridge:

Hi SnakeMedicine,

I did check the draconic chart - but as I'm an early Aries, it didn't change the node position. I agree that the US emphasizes the Aries nature over the Libra. However, I find in the metaphysical community that it's the Libra nature that is emphasized over Aries.

After working with the North Node Libra; I've tried hard to suppress my Aries nature (tricky as it's my sun sign) but it's always about the balance. Most of the comments on the EC are about the issue of being heart centered (libra) and wanting to help others - and then complaining about feeling ignored and taken for granted. I really feel that what most of us are struggling with (regardless of our sign), is finding the balance between giving to others, while feeling that we, also, matter.

10/11/14 10:09:05PM @pat-starbridge:

I noticed that Aries differ in terms of whether they are early, middle or late. I'm early, and many mistake me for a Pisces. Most of the Aries I know, are in the middle (first part of April) and tend to be very charming, the ones born towards Taurus seem to have many qualities of that sign.

Setting aside the famous temperament of Aries; it's about the sense of self. The motto of the sign is "I am". Of course, I can't speak for all Aries' but for me, there is a strong sense of who I am, and separate from other people; as oppose to Libra which is more about partnering and seeing the self in relation to the other person.

My North Node is challenging; one astrologer asked me "What were you thinking?" I ask myself that same question, many times.

10/12/14 08:25:55AM @dice:

I had never heard of the Draconic Chart before..

It shows my north and south nodes as such:

North Node 22 Sag 02 07 Can 57
South Node 22 Gem 02

00 Lib 00

I have sun sign in aries and moon in virgo. In my whole chart I am described as a docile Aries which I got quite a chuckle from. I have not encountered anyone that I know in person to guess right.
