Are you an Empath?
Calling all heat lovers! This is for you!
Have you ever noticed that you just feel and do better in specific or certain types of temperatures? For me I absolutely hate the cold! Even sitting in an air-conditioned office building makes me miserable! I've learned that not only do I feel better, my energy is also a lot lighter and more positive in higher temperatures. That's why summer is my favorite season! While in the mean time I despise winter haha.
During the summer, I always have to walk outside and soak up some warmth and sun. I get so many headaches from sitting in the office air-conditioning all day.
Now this doesn't just apply to those who love the heat, it can be the same situation but opposite for those who love the cold!
Anyone had similar experiences to this whether hot or cold temperatures? What do you experience when you're out of your ideal temperature range?
Share your stories!
Love Always,
Ari~

Permalink Reply by Lisa Ann on July 11, 2012 at 6:59pm I am so glad you asked! Actually I am allergic to the cold. I get hives and very lethargic in cold temperatures. Feel like I'm shutting down. At work, the AC is too cold for me and I'm the dork with a sweater! I am certainly not a sun worshiper by no means but I definitely feel the need to sneak outside a few times a day. And the extreme heat doesn't seem to bother me as much as other people. I'm interested in what others have to say. Oh yeah....and I have to have my windows cracked in the car when the AC is on to feel "normal". weird!
Permalink Reply by Grace on July 11, 2012 at 7:25pm I totally get that, except, I am opposite, I need a moderate temp to feel calm, cool and collected, but I seem to be able to regulate my temp better in the colder weather. I have always had a theory.. let's see if I can word this right... I was born on July 22nd, in the morning, but I prefer colder weather and am more of a night owl... Most folks I meet, seem to be opposite, of the time and time of year they were born, which seems strange but I swear, it is almost always the case. My doctor always asks me why I have a fever and no tests seem to show why, and I told her, I dunno, I'm hot blooded, so perhaps, what you are born in, sets your temp, and you are more comfortable in the opposite setting???? When is your b-day and what time in the day were you born? maybe I am onto something....
Permalink Reply by Lisa Ann on July 11, 2012 at 7:53pm Thats very interesting! I was born in January and despise the cold. My kids were born in May and July and run very warm and can't take the heat. And yes I was born in the morning and am a night owl too. lol
Permalink Reply by Grace on July 11, 2012 at 8:07pm I always knew I was onto something, what that something is, who can say, If more repsond maybe we can find a link and give it a name! ^_^
Permalink Reply by Grace on July 11, 2012 at 8:09pm Perhaps it's natures way of balancing.. a yin and yang so to speak, those of us born in heat and sun, prefer the cold and moon? to balance natures gifts??? Yeesh, I dunno, but I think we are onto something...

Hi Grace,
Just wanted to point out that if you're constantly running a fever, you might have an auto-immune condition, such as lupus. Get checked out by a naturopath, seriously. Running fevers all the time is BAD.

P.S. My daughter's theory about the hot v. cold thing is that it depends where you were born, as in, you're optimized for the climate that your mother was in when she was pregnant with you and you were in during your early years of life.
Permalink Reply by SnakeMedicine on July 23, 2012 at 6:44pm Amaya, your daughter's theory is definitely true for me! I was born in Alameda County, CA, and that is exactly the climate I consider optimal. :)
Permalink Reply by Brittney on July 12, 2012 at 11:07am I was born mid December around 1130pm. I'm a night owl and (given 15 minutes to wake up) an obnoxious morning person. lol I prefer heat to cold. I'm always wearing my jacket at work, too! I always seem to be cold; though living in the PacNW (Pacific North West) we don't get very many hot days here. I miss the TN heat often (lived there for about a year). I'm not sure if the time you were born make a difference (since I'm a night owl and a morning person) but I do think that the seasons affect us! I love how winter looks, but don't appreciate the cold! lol
Love the research we're doing!! =))
