Everything you look at is energy, everything. You seem so positive that it isn't the aura and yet what you describe on top of the trees is exactly that. When I look at the tops of trees that's what I see, the aura of the tree.
Some people, such as you have that gift of foresight and to be honest, I think it's the hardest gift to have. To know but not be able to stop something. I don't know the purpose of this gift other than you are to be an observer of world events. As Bing mentioned, it's like watching from a tall building.
There isn't anything more that I can add as others have already noted. I think you know the answer but you probably needed to come on here to at least speak your truth as this is a place where you will be heard. A couple of points that I will mention. On being on the gov radar - a friend who is a local psychic is very good at remote viewing and is popular so much so that one day, she got a visit from the "men in black". They asked if she wanted to work for the government. She politely said "no" and although they went on their way, she keeps a low profile.
The other thing has to do with the earthquakes. I was raised in CA and the Bay Area was my home for many years. In 2011 the Bay Area - Berkeley went through a month or two of an earthquake a week. Now of course, there are earthquakes all the time but they are small enough not to bother us but these did. I forgot if they were at a 3. or 4. magnitude. Even long time natives were getting nervous although it was probably good as these small quakes were relieving pressure.
In 2012 I moved out of CA and went further north. I had planned to leave anyway for other reasons but I was growing increasingly uncomfortable about what I felt may happen. I have been watching the earthquake activity around the Pacific Rim and it seems to be intensifying. The thing is, it's not just empaths and psychics who are feeling it. Most people you speak with around the Pacific know that something huge is coming. Whether it will hit CA or another state is hard to say but CA has been dodging the bullets for awhile and it's due - if of course the drought doesn't wipe everything out first. On the one hand CA has had so many quakes that it often relieves the built up pressure so that's a good thing; however it's had such a terrible history of devastating quakes that, as the saying goes, it's not if, it's when.
On the orange/blue colors - I picked up on this one. Although they are opposite on the color wheel, they are complimentary colors as the intensify each other. I do a lot with color intuition and worked with a woman who only works with complimentary colors. The blue representing the throat chakra is the area or bridge when the spiritual information is made manifest (speaking, writing, doing) and the orange representing the creative, 2nd chakra. Of course for your work, these centers are so important.
I wish I had some info on the crows. I grew up in an area with lots of crows, they were always around me as a child. Then we moved about 400 miles away to an area that didn't have any crows. After a few years, we had crows. Then I moved back east - there were crows where I lived and now I'm in another state - crows! I was sitting in my car the other day, and one just perched itself along a nearby wall. They just follow me and I really don't like them. I know that the Native Americans revere them and I've had at least one or two past lives as shaman. I just wish it was some other type of bird.
Everyone has a unique ability, even if you have two empaths who feel energy in a similar manner, how they interpret the energy is unique to them. It doesn't matter what the ability, clairvoyance, clairaudience, empath, no two people will perceive, receive information the same way. Even science has figured this out. We use labels like empath to give some definition to the ability but within the definition, everyone is unique.
You have answered your own question. You were looking for answers outside yourself but as you now figured out, this is unique to you and even if someone has a similar experience, the meaning of what you see is for you to define.
Thanks for bringing up various topics and this one is interesting. I started doing astral projection by accident but can't do it if I try. Most of my experiences were scary. There are many methods such as the ladder or stair visualization method but I found the one from Robert Monroe worked for me. Basically you lay on your side and don't cross your limbs. Of course the trick is to put the body to sleep while the mind stays awake.
This particular retrograde caused a lot of problems as it was in gemini. I just read a comment from Matt Khan who is a spiritual teacher and he mentioned traveling to give a talk and his suitcase with all his clothes disappeared. I found all forms of communication simply a disaster. Officially, the retrograde ended on the 11th but there is a lingering effect called the shadow effect which will end around the 23rd.
One of the great things about dreams and symbols is that there can be more than one interpretation. Ultimately, there is a part of you that knows the answer for this dream is a message from your higher self.
As to the actual key, that is amazing. I've been hearing many stories of things showing up unexpectedly - and yes, things can simply appear. One theory is that we are shifting realities and that the boundaries between realities (such as the waking and dream state) are becoming thinner and thinner. So objects from one reality can move into another. Lots of people have been mentioning about objects disappearing and then reappearing.
I didn't have night terrors as a child but started getting them when I was older. I was told that my psychic abilities had "popped open." I had to sleep with some light in the room so I could distinguish between this reality and the other.
When we go to sleep and go into REM, we dream - basically we go traveling at night and because we are in our spiritual bodies, we don't fear any of the stuff we see. So all that scary stuff is normal; it's just our waking consciousness doesn't know what it is and is terrified. What I think happens is that we wake up before we wake up - meaning we wake up on the astral plane before actually waking up in this reality (if that makes sense.) It's like the brain gets confused on the waking and dreaming states.
I can only tell you what worked for me and that is meditation; it seems to calm the brain waves. I also recognize certain triggers; for example, if I'm upset before bedtime, that will often trigger an episode. I know that there is information online for helping children to meditate. The other thing that might help is to find out what relaxes her - a bedtime story or certain music. You might check out Hemi-sync or binaural beats, they usually have some on Youtube and are often within relaxing music. They help to reduce stress; I don't know if they work for night terrors but it's worth a try. It's just a matter of getting her brain to relax.
Also, whatever methods you decide to use, it may take several attempts. It's terrifying to go through it and that fear of going to sleep can create more fear. I'm glad you understand what she's dealing with.
Your last few sentences reminded me of a discussion I had on another site. I was trying to come to terms with my difficulties setting up a business as an intuitive/healer. The comments back were interesting - I was told that I could have anything I wanted and then, a few replies down, I was told that I might never succeed in this work and that I should just go get a job at Wal-mart and I better be grateful for whatever I got, even if it meant poverty.
Then there are the people who throw fits if a person charges money for "spiritual" work. They believe that this is a higher calling and therefor, we shouldn't charge. It's hard to explain that you have to pay the bills and that after a long day of work - say at Wal Mart, you don't have the energy to do the healings and readings.
Finally, I will leave you with an interesting example of someone who is "privileged" and miserable. I recently visited a beautiful metaphysical store. It's very large, and a great collection; however the owner was horrible. She didn't want to talk to the customers and when she did, she was visibly angry. At first I thought she must be going through some major issues but then I looked up her store on yelp. She had about 13 reviews dating back to 2011 and only had an overall rating of 3.5. The reviews basically stated what I just wrote; great collection but horrible customer service. I looked up the owner and she's had the store for years, even rebuilt and enlarged the building. She travels to India every year so the woman must have plenty of income. The location is amazing, with the water and hills - I mean it's just beautiful. She has all that, and this woman is miserable. By the way, she teaches meditation classes - obviously they aren't helping her.
I have a few theories about this but the main thing that leaps out from my experience and those of the reviewers is that she doesn't like customers; it's like a big imposition for her to be dealing with the public. What's the point of years spent meditating with your guru in India, when you can't be kind - or at least polite to people. I think she's the sort that's only happy while meditating on a lone hilltop. Sure, we all can feel spiritual when we are alone, but the real work is when we have to deal with others.
I don't discount people seeing into other worlds and having visions but there is sometimes a physical reason for why things happen.
Flashes are not uncommon - people often see them as white, blue, or pink. Usually, it's nothing serious but If you haven't seen an eye doctor for a while, you might want to get your eyes checked and tell him/her about the flashes. Just to make sure there isn't a physical problem.
Also, the jumping and flipping is probably aiding in the optical effects - it's like if a person spins around and around in circles they get dizzy and everything is blurry.
When people get caught up in whether they "should" help or not, or have a responsibility, the ego gets involved. We will fret as to whether we did enough, or feel guilty, etc - that's the ego talking. And then helping becomes tied up in our feelings of self-worth.
As Goodenergyhealing alluded to, the Universe has a way of helping. When we realize that the Universe is smarter than us, it takes the burden off of us. If a person shows up needing help and we know we can, then we do what is needed and if we are not the right person; they will find someone else. For example, some clients will want healing but on a subconscious level, they are not yet ready. I can do the best I can, but then I let go of the outcome. If a client isn't ready to deal with their issues, I don't take it personally; I know that somewhere down the road, they will be healed.
Developing trust in the Universe isn't easy because we think everything is our responsibility but when we realize that the Universe is kind and loving, we can let go of the worry of "doing the right thing" or being overly concerned with others. Oddly enough, once we get to that point; helping becomes easier because we don't feel that sense of burden. We work from the heart, not from a sense of guilt
You are seeing energy or auras. Energy is not just around humans but everything - plants, animals, rocks even man-made objects. Everything is composed of energy. Energy can be in colors and shapes - basically, you are seeing into different realities and they are overlapping
Yes, if you relax, you can see better. When people try to hard, it's more difficult. It's easier to see this stuff with a relaxed, sleepy gaze
So here we are again!
Okay, First up, I can't pick up thoughts, some people read minds but most psychics (at least the one's I know) don't read minds, they read the energy of the situation.
I'm not sure what your asking but I'm going to assume that what the client is asking is for you to pick up on the thoughts of another person?? There is something called third party reading which means that the psychic is being asked by the client to read another person. This is generally something that most psychics don't do because we only read the person asking permission to be read.
However, there is a way around this by reading the energy or dynamics of the relationship. You're not exactly reading the other person but you can pick up on the overall energy of the relationship between the third party and the client.
So, back to the question - thoughts are not that relevant. A reader friend once said that a client could ask "is he thinking about me" and even if the answer is "yes" what's the point? We have millions of random thoughts a day but they don't necessarily determine what thoughts the person will act upon.
Generally psychics are looking at the overall energy, not specific thoughts.
No problem. I would suggest that you consider putting this question or other questions about reading in another section such as Healers/Readers or Psychic development. Also, if you put this same question in another group, you will have to delete this post off the empath life forum.
You might want to view the group's list. The moderators are particular about what goes in the forum, mainly it has to deal with life as an empath and coping.
One of the things that helped me was to read the write ups and descriptions of other readers. When they write stuff about being accurate, there's usually a footnote somewhere in small print that mentions free will. It doesn't matter what the time frame is because if the client doesn't act on it, then it's a missed opportunity.
Also, many readers are moving away from the future reading stuff because the future really is in major flux and many believe that working with a client to help them with the current issues is more helpful as the present moment will determine the future. Also, future readings can in fact, have the opposite effect where a person may want the new relationship or job but then the thought of actually getting it, will cause them to sabotage their chances.
The thing about readings is that you really work for the person's Higher Self. It's one of the few times that the Higher Self can communicate and so the information you receive may not be what the client wants to hear but what they need to hear at that moment. For example, they may be concerned about a future job when the Higher Self wants to focus on their situation with their mother.
Reading requires tremendous trust in the Spirit, you are delivering the information but you are not responsible for whether the person is happy with it or whether they act on it - like being a mail carrier.
Reading your comments raises my own anxiety level because I use to do the psychic line stuff and I felt that same anxiety. There are sites that allow you to set up your own reading site and you just pay for the use of the web site and phone. This allows you to tailor the readings to what you feel comfortable with. Not everyone is good with the future readings. Some readers focus on Soul readings or past life readings. It's a matter of finding out what's comfortable for you. It's a matter of finding your reading style. And this job is giving you the opportunity to see what works for you and what doesn't.
Of course, the main thing is to be grounded and connected with Spirit before the phone rings. It requires trust that the information coming through is exactly what's needed at this time and that the information is given in a manner for the highest good of the client.
Letting go of the ego should not be the objective as attempting to eliminate it causes the ego to hide behind, what appears to be, unselfish motives. We all need the ego in this life but awareness of it is key as that, in itself allows for self observation of our actions and the reasons for those actions.
One of the things that I've noticed on this site is the fear empaths have with "negative" emotions; they want to shield or block and I believe that this often leads empaths to try and alter the moods of people around them. It's like if they can just fix everyone else then they would be happy but it doesn't work that way and usually leaves the empath feeling drained.
We live in a society that is obsessed with being happy and that creates unreasonable expectations and a genuine fear of all other emotions. But emotions are just expressions of energy, like colors on a palette and we are blessed with the ability of experiencing a full range of emotions. But because of the emphasis on happiness, people will suppress their emotions, drug themselves or force themselves to pretend to feel what they don't this can lead to further emotional issues.
So back to empaths projecting/manipulating energy; when someone says they do this to make the other person feel better, I always ask - are you sure it's not to make yourself feel better.?
Case in point: an individual sent me an email with some excessively happy message. I was depressed about a number of things in my life and found the email pushy and obtrusive. Normally, I would have sent back a message like "thank you, I feel better;" not because I did but I wanted to be polite and not hurt the person's feelings. But I wasn't going to do that, this time. Why should I dismiss my feelings for the sake of being polite? I shot back an email basically informing the person that I wasn't going to be happy for awhile. The person sent back a couple of emails complaining about how she was only trying to help and be a friend and basically, made me feel like a bad person for not rising up to her energy level.
So what does that say? What it says is that while the individual thought she was trying to help, her ego got in the way. She was now hurt and offended which means, the sending of energy to me was a way that she could feel better about being a lightworker - and that is ego driven.
Secondly, I felt worse after the email exchange because I recognized where I was on an energy level to what was "expected" of me. There was a big gap between what I was suppose to be feeling (all happy and joyful) and what I actually felt. So, that made me feel worse.
I get the mechanics but the question is really "why" are you changing their mood to match your own? That, for me, is the real issue. When we feel physical pain in the body, it is our system's way of getting our attention to tell us there's something that needs to be addressed. Negative emotions are similar, there is something we are not dealing with that needs to be looked at.
I've had many times when someone was trying to change my mood, and for a little while it might relieve what I was going through but that emotion be it sadness, anger, etc, would return until I dealt with the underlying problem. Sometimes I would even fake being cheerful just to get the person to stop pushing their energy on me and it often made me feel a little resentful. On the one hand, I appreciated that they were a friend and trying to cheer me up but on the other hand, I just needed time to deal with whatever I was going through and to ride out the emotions I was feeling.
True, in some cases where there is an emergency changing some one's mood may be the last resort so that the person doesn't inflict injury on themselves or others or dealing with frightened children but I'm talking about just the basic day-to-day stuff.
As you said, some emotions are very deep and those are the ones that the individual must work on them self. It doesn't mean that we can't help by listening to them, etc but lasting change comes from the inside not from exterior forces.
Well i think most of us are concerned with well being of others. In my work, I help people see things from a different perspective but I also honour the emotions they are experiencing. Whether they are experiencing sadness or anger or grief, that is what is appropriate for them, it is often through experiencing these emotions that they will have a breakthrough.
Yes, now I do remember. Of course every situation is different and this may not be the same but when I was a care giver to an elderly family member there was a lot of that drain of energy. Whether age or illness, there is a time for serious reflection on one's life and often there is bitterness and regrets. This is not true for everyone but it does happen. That "pull" on the energy can almost feel claustrophobic.
This is a spiritual journey for all parties involved. I would say that for anyone who is caring for someone who is old, ill or depressed that to keep in mind that it has nothing to do with you. This really is a time when not taking it personally really applies, even if the person lashes out at the care giver. It's a bit like standing back and watching a movie as you see a person coming to terms with major issues. The general advice is always to get out of the house for awhile and keep busy with other social activities which helps.
In my case, I found calling upon deceased family members to be very helpful, especially as the person is coming to the end of their life. Family members are still very much concerned with those on this side and will do all they can to assist in many ways.
You can care for someone but at the same time recognizing that each person is responsible for their own life. It may be considered kindness to the negative person but what of the long term effect for the sender of the energy? That is a constant uphill battle which on a daily basis can deplete the energy. A person doing that would have to maintain a constant connection to their energy sources-God, nature etc and very strong boundaries.
I feel like I'm caught in Groundhogs day because this topic keeps coming up. One of the things that I find interesting on this site is how many discussions revolve around "the other person" when the only thing that we completely control is our energy. And that, alone is more than enough to work with.
And yes I did know someone who was miserable and pushed happiness on another - she was past weird, she was simply, terrifying.
It's still manipulation of another person. There is a way to create a strong boundary and connect to Source, (see Trevor's pdf) It does take practice and there are times when a person can be pulled back into the negative energy. But with time, one can be around negative people without it bothering you. Remember, it's never about the other person - it's always about You.
I certainly didn't feel that you were arguing with my point. The topic of sending/projecting/manipulating energy is something that comes up many times and it's a very valid subject for discussion. If there was ever a time when this site would be creating more groups, I would recommend this topic for having it's own group.
There was a great discussion about this, maybe a year ago under the subject of "broadcasting". The reception and transmission of energy is the major part of what empaths do so it helps to have these discussions as we work through the ethics and mechanics of the process
I think we come at this a little differently. In your previous post you mentioned that we have a responsibility to others. I would say that our responsibility is to open up and radiate our true energy and in doing so, that helps others. It's like the sun, it doesn't have to direct warmth to anyone, it doesn't have to project or manipulate - it just is what it is. We have the option to accept the warmth or go indoors and turn on the AC; but we have a choice.
When people radiate their energy out to others with no expectations of how it's received; others can accept that energy or refuse it. When we send out energy, it is a gift, we are gifting another with the best part of our self. I think we all tend to get into trouble when we attach expectations to the gift. You offered your friend this gift and he took it, but he also had the option of not taking it. So, I don't see that as manipulation. What I was alluding to is where people send someone energy because they want to change the person's mood because the other's mood is in turn, bothering the sender. Sort of like - I can't be happy, if you're unhappy so I'm going to change your mood. That's ego driven. That's different from - you're unhappy, i will radiate my love to you so that you may feel better, but you have the choice whether to accept or not.
I like the word "radiate" as oppose to projecting which often sounds highly directed and forced. When we radiate kindness and compassion, it's there for anyone. There is no hidden agenda. When people purposely direct their energy for a reason, such as to get something from someone, that is manipulation. Even when the intention appears altruistic such as "I want them to feel better" the question must always be asked, are you making that person feel better because you care or because when they feel better, you will too - which is also manipulation.
Ultimately, this is a matter of how you see yourself and how you see yourself in relation to others. You, alone must make that decision. I will say, that we have had this discussion on this site many times, and I often hear people say well it's fine as long as I don't hurt anyone and as long as I don't get caught. I've read comments here where empaths figure that since they have a better understanding of how to manipulate energy then non-empaths; they can do what they want.
But here's the thing, we are all energy beings and even non empaths, on the subconscious level recognize energy manipulation. Also, there are more and more people awaking up; it's like a switch that's been turned on. In time, there will be more empaths than not as this is our natural state. So, at some point, manipulation is going to be difficult to achieve.
I'm not sure what you mean by "visions in their mind but not like what I've been visualizing" Visualizing is within the mind; perhaps you can clarify a little further as to what you mean.
As you stated that our psychic abilities vary from person to person; so how you see is unique and you can't compare it to others. For example, some people see something on a "screen" within their mind, others can see outward into our reality - like people who can physically see auras. Many medical intuitives can see into a person right down to the cellular level while others see things in terms of symbols, like a broken heart, indicating a heart problem. There is no right way to see, it's just how they read the information.
Your comment about "visions being actually true" raises a point about clairvoyant abilities. It's very easy to shut down this ability and the biggest way to do this, is to focus on it being "true or accurate". This is where people freeze up because they are terrified of being wrong. When someone gets a "hit" and their vision turns out to be true, it's very impressive but this can also cause the ability to shut down if the person worries that the next vision wouldn't be "true".
Using clairvoyant abilities is about being as clear a channel as possible for Spirit and Trusting that whatever information comes through is what is needed to be dealt with at that time. A vision may pertain to something in a past life that is still effecting the current life, a vision may also be showing something in the distant future or even in a probable future. And Spirit doesn't always speak literally - often it's symbolic. So what may look like complete nonsense, is a symbolic message that slowly reveals itself over time.
The other point is that when a person has a block regarding their ability, there can be many reasons. Of course fear is a big factor but often the Higher Self shuts that ability off for a little while because the person may not yet be ready to handle it.
The inability to remember dreams has nothing to do with a clairvoyant block. We all dream but whether we remember or not is related to how much our waking consciousness is ready for all the information from the dream state. In the dream state we are our true self which is a multi-dimensional being and even those who are spiritually aware, are not always ready to move into that state in their waking reality. The Higher Self only gives us what we can handle, too much and we hit overload.
As I said, Spirit tends to convey much information in a symbolic form and that often occurs in dreams. I find that to be be the case with dreams. So, were these dreams true - on some level, yes but not within a 3D reality that could be verified.
As Sirah wrote, Trevor's pdf can really help. Also, we have a Healer/Empath group here and you may find some of your answers by looking through the posts. As Sirah mentioned, using universal energy is much easier and actually heals both the client and the healer. This is why Reiki is very popular because it's like - you as a healer are the conduit for the energy, you don't have to use your own. When I first started, I tried using my own energy and it wasn't as effective and it was exhausting. Using one's energy and taking on people's energy is something that healers have done for centuries. I have friends who are Shaman and take on other people's energy. While I have great respect for their work, I find it to be a little old school. We are in a very transformative period and that goes for healing. There are now other ways of healing without causing depletion of one's own energy; for example, using energy from Source/Universe; learning to distinguish between one's energy and another's; being able to pick up information from the client's energy without taking it in physically; being able to radiate the energy outward so that the other person will be "in tune" - sort of like being a human tuning fork.
There's only so much I can answer because understanding your healing abilities is a spiritual journey that belongs to you. It takes time to understand it. I will say that as you know how to do this involuntarily means you already have the knowledge within you; it's just a matter of bringing it into the consciousness.
I would see the attunement and the retrograde as separate issues. Most of us who have gone through attunements experience different symptoms, some are physical, others emotional. Usually, whatever the person needs to address in their life, is going to come up. Often people will feel physically ill as the body clears itself,and/ or they will experience a wide range of emotions as those must be cleared. So, to me, it looks like this was more about the attunement.
However, as you becomes more sensitive to energies, you may be effected more by retrogrades. I tend to look at anything astrological as a "stage setting". It's not that any planetary change has the power to make us react a certain way; rather, it's as if the stage has changed, and we as the actors in this play, react differently to the change in environment. I think of a mercury retrograde as the Hanged Man in the tarot; everything is a little "off" and we are not moving forward but sort of hung up. And that's good, it is a time when we need to reflect on where we've been and what direction we are headed. A retrograde is like the "pause" button, it gives us time to reflect and to make changes if necessary before we hit the "reset" button.
I think it really is about what feels right to you. I'm something of a purist on names, I believe our birth name is the one we chose before coming into this world. As you say, names hold energy and that energy is a specific signature. Not only can you look at numerology - I think Sarah is a 2 and Erika is an 8 but you can also look up the meaning or origin of the name. Every name carries a certain "resonance" and Sarah and Erika are very different in feel.
Ultimately, it's what feels right for you.
Grounding is simply connecting oneself to this life. We connect to this world through what we love. Think of someone, something that you love; visualize it and allow yourself to feel the love you have for the person or thing. By connecting in this way, you quickly re establish why you are here on this earth.
I was born with a very highly developed sense of smell. I always think that I'm part blood-hound, this maybe why dogs love me. This is one of those gifts which I wish I didn't have. Anyway, I grew up in a household where a number of family members died of cancer. As I didn't know any difference, I didn't realize what I was smelling till years later when I would meet people with cancer. I noticed the same smell. Sadly, I can also smell it on people who haven't been diagnosed.
I was a caregiver to a family member, who passed but not from cancer. At one point, she had a violent seizure and ended up in the hospital. Her sense of smell wasn't as good as mine, but even she noticed that she smelled like death. She asked me to take her clothes home and wash them. During the seizure she had passed some urine and bowel, but that wasn't the smell. The minute I got near the clothes, I realized what she was talking about, it did smell like death.
I don't know if I had smelled death as a child, or perhaps we all have some sort of sense memory in which we house a memory of that scent; but it's a smell like nothing else. It has a sickly sweet smell that once you come in contact with it, you never forget it. I took the clothes home and ran them through the wash; even after three washings, I couldn't get the smell out. I ended up throwing the clothes out.
In the last several years of her life, her body started producing a very odd odor - nor cancer, not death. It was just odd and it clung to her, especially in her hair. Even on freshly washed hair, I could still smell it. After her death, I had to throw out all the bedding and the clothes she wore in the last years. Everything had that smell and it couldn't come out in the wash.
I don't know what the smell was. First I thought it was due to her medication for high blood pressure, but by the end of her life she was on very little meds. She did suffer from occasional seizures that were never diagnosed. When we speak about dying, we usually focus on what's called the "active" part of dying, but the process can start much earlier. I believe that as her body was transitioning, her body chemistry was altering.
I should also point out regarding your comment about dogs, that in addition to dogs being able to smell cancer, they are able to detect when an epileptic is going into a seizure, apparently the body chemistry alters during the seizure.
I had to go back and read what I wrote because I couldn't remember. One thing that I didn't mention is that I don't feel that there is anything wrong with persuasive speech because its present within our reality and can be witnessed by all. What I was referring to is when people manipulate energy without saying a word (like planting a thought into someone's head). Because, it's not seen and those who have that ability have an unfair advantage over those who are unaware that this is possible.
In terms of entangled in the results, from the viewpoint of a healer, I want my clients to heal. But as soon as I make that statement, I'm putting my ego into the equation. Do I want them to heal because that validates my work? Do I want them to heal which may over ride what their Higher Self is trying to teach them, meaning that I think I know more than their Soul?
What healers learn is that they can't put expectations on the healing. The person's Higher Self will know exactly what to do and maybe that healing will take, perhaps it will start a slow healing process or maybe that person isn't ready to be healed.
I think the reason for many of the comments is that most of us have gotten caught in this trap. It starts off as wanting to help, but then we forget that we don't know everything, we really don't know what's best for that person's highest good. Sometimes loving exactly what is there as bad as it looks, is the highest form of healing. Sending Universal Love without any expectations is always the best way to go.
In a time when so much of the info we receive is visual, it might be hard to stop looking. Pulling info from photographs is basically psychometry, where information can be acquired from an image or an object. Your fear is common among psychics and mediums who have had to find ways of conquering their fears. Understanding that what looks scary like ghosts is simply another level of reality can help. Also, most practice some type of protection ritual to allow them to feel safe. You might want to read accounts by people who do this work to see how they got over their fears. People tend to fear ghosts and the like because it's the unknown, once you begin to understand what you are dealing with it's not so scary.
Emmy, I'm really surprised by this post. You have discussed hearing odd music and vision issues before in the Ascension group. You may want to reread some of the replies in that group, or google for ascension symptoms as this is what it is. It's not as if the ascension symptoms that you experienced in the past were just going away. As we adjust to the changes in our perception we tend to plateau so what first seemed odd becomes normal and then after a certain amount of time, those symptoms will increase or new ones added.
Alison, I think all of us were reading behind the words correctly. However, as there are many opinions, some of those replies were directed to other people who see nothing wrong with outright manipulation. Being an empath, is having a particular ability; however, that's not the personality of the individual. There are some here who are very sweet and those who are very direct and to the point.
Being direct, doesn't mean, not being understanding; it's just that the person wants to get to the point, quickly. We had gotten past the word "manipulate" and knew what she meant; but we deliver information in different ways.
Every time this topic comes up, it always raises intense discussion because people feel very strongly, one way or the other, about it. The issue here, isn't about outright manipulation but this weird gray area of "doing what's right" or trying to fix a situation, all the while, having good intentions. There are many who believe and feel compelled to try and change things for the better. Then there are those, like myself, who believe that this type of well meaning manipulation is affecting a person's freewill. I do feel that there are certain times when it's necessary but generally, in my opinion, if you send unconditional love, that's not a problem but if you send energy with the intent of altering a situation then you step into an ethical minefield.
I should also mention, as you brought it up that while this is an empath site, not everyone here is an empath
Okay that's funny! Incarnation means that you are currently alive. And if you're breathing you have incarnated into this world unless you are presently dead and writing on this site.
I assume you meant "reincarnation" which means past lives. I didn't mention reincarnation. You can be a new soul but you still have lessons.
The other interpretation is that you believe you are alive in physical form but you have no spirit. In that case, good luck with that.
It doesn't matter if you believe or not, if you incarnated (which you have) you're under the law of karma. It has nothing to do with being caught or justice. You come into this life for a certain purpose and to work through a number of spiritual lessons. It is your Higher Self that has set up the lessons you're to work on. If it finds that you are not on your path, it will guide you back. That's the kama part. It's not punishment or justice; it's more like a self correcting system to keep you on track. It doesn't matter if your actions were seen or not seen by others, your Higher Self is with you at all times. Karma can be instantaneous, or it can be cumulative. But it's there. You can avoid, argue, and deny, but you simply can't escape yourself.
Power exerted on others, is not power - it's force. Even the word "controlee" speaks volumes as to the nature of controlling another. This is not true power.
Everyone is under the laws of the Universe, there are no exceptions. Free will is our gift and anyone who tries to control it, has to face the consequences. Just consider - how would you feel if you realized the ideas that suddenly came to you and acted upon, weren't even your own thoughts. Or the sudden change of emotions weren't yours, as if we were under the influence of a mood altering drug. They would not be your true emotions but false.
Empaths often think that non-empaths have no idea what's going on. On a conscious level, they may not; but on the subconscious level - they know exactly what you are doing. Nothing is hidden. Most communication takes place on an energy level and more and more people are starting to wake up, their consciousness is expanding and with that, they become more sensitive to the energy that people send.
Then there are those who may not be empaths but highly psychic and that population is growing. They will pick up on what you're doing and send you a lovely psychic whack on the head.
I didn't get the feeling that you are a manipulator but there is a slippery slope here. One empath I know, started out trying to help people by changing their mood or stopping arguments. Problem is that she started to think that she knew what was best and she got hooked on the power. It's very easy to fall into that trap. I wouldn't say that you're being attacked - just think of it as the Universe sending a lot of messages your way.
I haven't gone through exactly the same circumstances but have some experience in this. All I can do is just give you some thoughts to consider that may help.
At times like these, I throw up my hands to my higher self and say "you figure it out". You can ask that if this isn't the right job or right time to show you a sign - usually, some weird obstacle or some unforeseen event will occur. And to keep in mind that even though it is a dream job, it will not be the only one out there - I say this, just to help get you to relieve a little pressure from the decision.
I've had some experience with the whole dementia issue . There is the belief that we plan out our passing, often it's quick and then there are long term illnesses. When a loved one was going through this, I noticed that their consciousness would be "here" and then somewhere else. It's like a part of them is here and the other part checked out. It's an interesting way to leave; but very rough for the family.
At the end of the day, you have to answer to yourself; not the nurses, social workers etc. They are more a reflection of the guilt you are feeling. If this situation was reversed and you were the soul of one of your parents watching your child struggling with this decision - what advice would you give? Would you say "stay with me, even though I barely know you anymore". Or would you say "you have done a wonderful job helping us but you also need to live your life."
I can tell you that even if you stay, you will feel guilt over something. Trust me on this one. We always think "if only I had done this or that." There is no "right" way, we just give our personal best which varies from day to day. If it was me, i would just ask God or the Universe or my Higher Self to point the way and trust that it really will work out for the best.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. With power comes responsibility of that power. When someone knowingly manipulates another, it can block that person's freewill regardless of intent. I can tell you as someone who was on the receiving end of a person manipulating my emotions that it feels like being violated. People may not say anything to you, but on some level, they'll start to sense what you're doing. And there are serious repercussions for doing this.
The only time I use it, is in an emergency. As you said, it's not only an invasion of privacy and blocks freewill but often by sending someone "good" energy this may in fact, block their progress on whatever issues they are dealing with. Often intense emotions such as anger, grief, depression maybe just what that person needs in order to have a break through. The Soul always knows what it's doing, even if it looks like a god awful mess.
We just got off on a slightly different topic regarding teachers. I know you're still young and heck, we're all still learning. What I hope for you is that you never stop being open and loving but as you experience life, that you will come to realize that not every one has your best interest. And that you will be as loving to yourself as you are to others and that you will be protective of that innocent, loving side of yourself.
