Lol okay sure.I think it's normal to have dreams in color. But my mom doesn't dream in color unless their prophetic and my cousin who is also an empath (and sees spirits) doesn't dream as vividly as I do. Lately, I think I astral project when I sleep or talk to my guides or beings of neutral or higher vibrations. I can usually tell because in the dreams they talk to me directly and there's a message that lingers upon waking. Other times someone is walking next to me. In some of my dreams there are hooded beings, usually four in rows of twos that don't really talk to me. Well, the two closest in proximity do, but the two in front tend not to and only look forward. They never let me see their faces, they just use their mouths for small talk like building rapport but send everything else to me via pictures.

I always dream in color but I don't think it's an empath trait. I see, taste, feel, everything and always wake up with the residual. I was shot a few times in dreams and it hurt like crazy when I woke up! But my dreams are always in color.

No, I don't think it's an empath thing. It happens to all kinds of people. To be frank, I don't think everyone needs to have a bunch of friends or to go out and do a bunch of stuff in order to have friends. I think that one coworker that showed up might be worth talking to and getting to know. Maybe you two start hanging out and she introduces you to a bunch of other people you get along with as well. Now you have a group. Or...nothing comes of it because the environment just isn't conducive to it. But sometimes in order to change what we get, we have to change our surroundings.

Meditation most likely will help you detach from these people and their emotional/vibrational state. I usually practice mindfulness

Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Clairsentience, and Claircognizance

Psychic and Paranormal

I had stopped meditating for a while, pat because I had started to see and feel presence. I had talked to God about this years ago and told him to give me any gift but that. I think it's cause my family is prone to that gift."seeing" things is common in my family. This was back in 2010/2011 before I started seeing and feeling vibrations in all things and almost passing out while driving due to overwhelming energy running through my body. it got to be too much for me so I had shut down for a bit to focus on getting my bachelors degree. Not exactly the easiest time. So I dont meditate much because whenever I do it much, I start to see again as well as leave my body in the night.

Psychic and Paranormal

Hey Carolyn! I don't want to give the impression that I'm talking down to myself. I'm not it's just I always think people with these abilities to such an extent are people who are detached, not focused on this world, interested in things like ascension, etc. Because these are the people I see with these gifts. I've always been intuitive but usually my information comes via one sense at a time or two at a time. Never like this. I might have dreams and feelings, or hear a voice and then get a knowing, or see a flash of information and feel the outcome. When all hit me at once, I told myself I was delusional, laughed, took a bit of precaution, and then...shame. it could've been worse I suppose. Lol

Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Clairsentience, and Claircognizance

Psychic and Paranormal

I feel less stressed than I use to because for a time I had completely shut down. now that these are reemerging I know that I'm reconnecting with myself and trusting myself a lot better. I started seeing things, angels and spirits, little kids, hearing laughter, as well as leaving my body a few years back, and while I'm comfortable with the obe part, I don't want to see anything and never did so I'm leaving that part alone. But do these thing happen gradually?

Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Clairsentience, and Claircognizance

Psychic and Paranormal

I had a really embarrassing experience the other day at work. It was the end of the shift and I went to use the bathroom. I purposely chose to use the lunch room's bathroom because it was the further away from everyone and no one would be there at that hour. I just wanted some alone time and time to think as I sat...

Anyways, when I was done and finishing up, I had a vision of someone coming into the lunch room to use the bathroom and opening the door to where I was and seeing me there on the pot. Then I heard, "It could be the one male coworker" and I started to feel that I should hurry up before something went down. As I was hurrying to finish up, I heard the lunch room door open and I tensed up. Then the bathroom door opened (there's no lock on that door) and it was the ONE MALE COWORKER in the entire unit who walked in on me in the bathroom! I screamed "Noooo!" and he paused and then immediately closed the door, said sorry, and walked out. It was so humiliating and I'm still trying to get over it. lol. I was hoping he'd forget about it and I have no clue what he saw but he didn't forget about it. Instead, he just got super nice to me for the rest of the shift. The good thing is because I felt someone would come in, I had "prepared" by crouching over a bit? lol omg it's embarrassing.

Anyways, all of that that happened made me realize that I was experience numerous "6th senses" at once. In addition to all of this I have dreams in which people tell me things that are happening in other people's lives. Most recently, it's been about my ex and all that he's been going through is coming to terms with our break up.

But what do I do about this? How do i even cultivate this? I don't feel like someone who has these abilities because I often think people with these abilities have an otherworldly nature to them and I'm commonplace.

That makes you clairsentient I believe. It has happened to me and many times I can feel the outcome of a situation or I just know what's going to happen. It's got a little weaker after college because of emotionally overwhelming trauma but it's been picking up again with relearning to trust myself.

For me, I write.

Sick a lot and guilt about self-care

Empath

I actually don't get sick much at all except when I want a mental health day. Then I can make myself sick enough to stay home. I don't feel guilty about it either. I think sometimes we need to take care of ourselves, even if those around us claim to "suffer" as a result. Work will always be there. My body has been telling me to stop eating heavily greasy, cheesy foods though. I get nauseous whenever I do now and so I can't eat certain things now without having to bring it up. Its something to work on.

Anybody get freaked out by hospitals and doctors' offices?

Empath

visitor, I think the people who have the hardest time finding a job at those who want to do something specific. There's a lot of options in terms of jobs. Fast food, libraries, restaurants, clothing departments, administrative assistant if you have really good typing skills and word processing skills. There's a lot of options to choose from. :)

Would you be open to working in a business setting? Maybe sign up with a temp agency and do a bit of temp work. The great thing about that is that you don't have to stay in one place for very long. If the environment is toxic, it's only transitory. I use to do that in college during the summer because I was bored and wanted to make money.

not sure this is empath related. I think you're just scared of the dentist because of whatever ideas you have in your head on what to expect. Maybe you shy away from pain.Best advice I can give make like Nike and just do it! :)

Empath

Hey visitor, when you start applying, set a goal in terms of self improvement. It took me a year with an intention of toughening up and learning how to cope to get there really good at it. When you set the intention, when challenges come it's easier to remind yourself what you're doing and to perceive it as a performance builder. Middle aged isn't old. You got this.

Low tolerance for BS

Empath

I think part of this is knowing when to let go of certain people and who you can let close to you and who you can't. I don't call people on their BS nor do I try to. And I stopped complaining because it brings me down. But sometimes you do have to complain until you find the strength to set proper boundaries. I just know who I can and can't let close, trust myself, and keep it going.

Empath

I'm a registered nurse who's also an empath that works in a hospital (a level 1 trauma hospital in an urban setting too so it's VERY busy, the people are often VERY sick and many times the families can be VERY rude). Honestly, working in this environment was the best thing for me because I learned to toughen up and set real boundaries for myself. It actually helped me to overcome my panic attacks/anxiety (I use to get them every day or night before work) and helped eliminate my depression. I knew I was a strong person, but I didn't know how strong until I worked here.

Are you trained to be a healthcare professional? I can't see why finding a job that isn't healthcare related would be impossible. Even if you are a healthcare professional, you could find work selling medical supplies (which is sales mostly), or do something administrative. There's also the world of business. There's so many paths to take in this world (especially if you're from a first world nation). You just have to figure out what you want to do.

I've met quite a few empaths. We have several in my family and there are some in the hospital (not the healthiest batch), a friend, and some random people here and there. Like you said, I feel scanned or read or studied. But I never really call them out on it.
