working as an empath

Empath

I was wondering who uses their empath abilities in their work? I find it a benefit in my practice as i can understand my clients better. In my other job i know when to approach someone and when to leave them alone. I am studying counselling because i think being an empath will help.

What do you think triggered your empathic abilities?

Empath

I believe i was born this way. I was lucky enough to study herbal medicine and through it discovered what i was. I dont feel trauma is necessary to develop talents, i think the inkling is there and just needs to be nurtured. However, not everyone is going to be "awake" enough to develop as an empath. This is not condemning those who arent, Some people live their lives unaware.

Is dating a non empath a recipe for disaster?

Empath

I am dating a non-empath myself. he knows what I am and its a bit hard to hide when his brother (deceased) popped in to have a chat with him through me. I am lucky that he loves me for who I am. The chances of finding someone completely on your wave length are low. So my question to you is do you care enough about this person to try? maybe she is in your life for a reason?

Why I like being an empath

Empath

thank you angel star, the purpose of starting this discussion was to throw a positive spin on being an empath. have I met nasty and manipulative people? You bet. Sue, you dont know me and I'm at a loss for your negativity towards me. The business I am in is health. the better I understand my clients the better I can assist them. But I believe the Universe gives us these things to learn from them. I am here to help others and I use every bad and challenging thing that has happened in my life for that purpose because it makes the experience worthwhile.

Why I like being an empath

Empath

I left out one important point. i wouldnt be me without this gift and I rely on it. its only when I meet someone with concrete walls around them that I notice exactly how much I use this gift.

Why I like being an empath

Empath

Quite often on here i see posts about the difficulties in being an empath so i thought i would list my reasons for liking the fact that I am an empath. Feel free to add your reasons you like being an empath.

1. I am a better healer. I work in complementary medicine. I understand people so much better because I am an empath.

2. I am a better parent. When my oldest child was little I always knew when he was sick at school.

3. I am a better friend. Sometimes you just call at the right time or know what to say to make them feel better.

4 I am a better employee. I know who is approachable and who is a waste of my time.

5. I can make a connection with anyone. I can find the common ground with anybody that i can read.

6. People feel better around me.

I love music. other things fall out of memory but song lyrics never do. Certain songs have come into my life with the right message at the right time.

Do empaths collect extra "children?

Empath

HI all, I am just wondering whether this is an empath phenomenon. Ever since I had my own children other children have gathred around. At first they were the age of my own kids but even though they are grown it is still happening, at work, sports when studying I collect young people.I become their 2nd mum. Does anyone else have experience of this?

Hi, I'm not Sharon but I am a practitioner. Flower REmedies wont take you anywhere you are afraid to go. Some remedies can be, I guess the word is cleansing depending on your needs.

bach flowers work very subtly. I add 4 drops to a 50 ml mix 8 drops to 100 mls. ABFE the does is always 7. I dont have a preference I go with my gut as to what works best. I started using the bush essences while treating kids with learning disorders.

It wasnt until i studiedBachFlowers that i discovered i was an empath. Now i use both Bach and Australian Bush Essences. I wouldnt be without them. In Bach the protection remedy is Walnut and in Bush there are many but basically Bush Fuchsia is a stand out.
