A word of advice to empaths

Empath

Not saying anything is difficult.
I guess in way I was lucky as I always had people approaching me for "advice" and I learnt quickly it's not an "advice" they want but attention ( classic "friend zone" case - a nightmare when you're in college ;) ). And I gave it to them, But I dont say anything if not asked.

I guess I understand why people are like this: we all have right to make mistakes, it's not necessarily bad things if we learn from them.
It does get difficult when someone we care about keeps denying things that so God damn obvious, but hey, life, right?

And again I'm lucky as I know two people who share my abilty so I have actually someone to talk to about it and dont have to hide it from everyone.

I Want Everyone's Intuition On This

Empath

Hi
I am new member here but I am not new to stories about abuse, sadly. Being empath I always dragged suffering people to me.
Many people will say that we should try to save family at all costs. I dont agree with this at all, Abusive parents (sadly most often fathers) destroy lives of people who are around, many children brought up in "families" like that never recover from that, and to those lucky ones that do it will take long years of hard work.
You have right to be happy and you have right not to be abused.
It of course depends on you, but my opinion would please save yourself!
x

Struggling to shake it off

Empath

I have a friend like this (ok, none of us is gay, but she's married) and I just cant imagine her not being here. I am terribly sorry that you lost someone like this!

Hello

Empath

Hello everyone, my name's Chris and I only found out about empaths few days ago (I know it's weird :) ).
Accidently I did a test on internet and what I read as a result I was truly shocked: it was like someone would know me for years and really well. Long years ago a psychologist told me that what is happening to me is too low emotional thersehold. It sounded like a condition to be dealt with. I believed her, but frankly it never sounded right to me: why would you cure being sensitive? And I just found out I am an empath.

This talent/gift does me a lot of pain, there is no question about it, but it also makes life very beautiful sometimes :)

I am here coz I want to meet other people like me and hopefully get an advice how can I control it? Anyone knows any good books about it?
I also read I could be a healer? Any info? Healer of what? Where do I learn?

OK, enough questions for the first time :)

Nice to meet you all :) <3
