Hello fellow Canadians!
I am from Southern Ontario and my family is from Nova Scotia (I'd prefer not to give exact locations for privacy reasons).I feel at peace whenever I visit Cape Breton/Cabot Trail. Looks like we have a big celebration coming up next year....150 years! I really hope I can travel across our beautiful country in the years to come.
Peace to you all
I can definately relate as well. I can't watch the news anymore, with the reports of violence (especially towards children) as top stories etc. I can't handle the emotions from not only the news, but also any tv shows or movies that are violent. I am not as active on Facebook due to the drama and negativity many people post. Recently I have used Facebook's filters more, so that the only posts in my newsfeed are from people who don't have constant drama (or post about negative things all the time). On my facebook feed, I have posts from several positive inspirational groups and that helps me.
I like the ideas that Dice mentioned. I find that nature (walking) helps me to refocus. I'm always going for walks near water. When I can't go for a walk, I use a small indoor water fountain that sits on my bedside table (it's the kind with small rocks). The sound of the water is so calming. A friend of mine uses a nature sounds CD for grounding. I really like your idea of the adult colouring book. I'm also hoping to receive one for Christmas.
Peace to you.
Connection to people
I can relate as well TigerLily.
Maybe it is love for you as Kit Kat mentioned. I have another thought for you to consider, even though obviously I don't know your full story on the connection you feel.
Someone once told me that as an empath, I have to be careful not to think that someone else's feelings (that I've picked up on) are actually my feelings. As in, projected feelings from someone else. I once had a "friend" who I thought I was close to, only to realize that he was a narcissistic alcoholic. He projected a lot onto me, which made me think at the time that we had a connection. I no longer have him in my life thank goodness, however it taught me a good lesson. As an empath, I stay away from narcissistic types as it is so overwhelming. I'm not implying that this is the case with the connection you feel, rather I'm just wondering if these positive feelings are projections from the other person?
There is also a possibility that a strong connection could be a twin flame or soulmate. If what you feel is stronger than the normal vibrations you pick up from other people.
I hope my thoughts have helped a bit.
Peace to you.
