How do you guys filter your energy?

Empath

For me, I keep a constant oversized reusable coffee filter around me and I pray a lot. Because everything must be in balance, the filtering process still allows some negative to come through, but it's bearable. My talks with God keep me grounded and strengthens my soul and spirit. Renews my mind and gives me the energy I need to continue on as an empath. I believe your on the right track in your techniques to co-exist with the gift of empathy.

Meditation experiences, do you see things????

Tools for Empaths

I do that a lot. Sometimes I'll get a vivid look at a place that lasts 30 to 45 seconds. I turn my head and I'm able to look around. Not sure if that's considered remote viewing or not, but it's pretty cool. A lot of times what we see like that doesn't mean anything. Sort of a beginning step into clairvoyance which is common among empaths. The close up faces in my opinion are entities that exist on the spiritual realm checking out the newbie or trying to break your concentration so you'll leave. Many different beings exist within the many realms of existance. As you grow and develop your ability more, these visions will last longer and become more meaningful.

Emotional manipulation

Empath

I feel that narcissistic ppl feed off the empathic more than others. Empaths overly love; overly feel; overly care; we give more chances than is deserved; and we doubt ourselves a lot. Cutting cords with that person and standing strong on your decision is all great advise and very helpful. I have found that you also have to strengthen your weaknesses as well. Seeing that person often isn't a bad thing. Each time you see that person, it will remind you of the heartache you've been put through and keep you on track to strenghthening yourself. Emotional distance will help as well. Its like building an emotional wall between the two of you. Before you know it, your heart will heal and your emotions reset. Hang in there Kit-Kat. It sucks but helps you grow.

Hearing 3 knocks on wall

Empath

In my experience of paranormal research, if there are 3 knocks usually between 3am and dawn, it's demonic. The 3 knocks is ment as an insult to the trinity. Yes, the Conjuring told the truth...lol. Your crown chakra is usually where insight and intution comes from. The intense energetic feeling it that area could be a warning (usually is for me) or the feeling of being highly sensitive to the paranormal going on around you. That's my take on what you described.

What do empaths do for a living?

Empath

I work in maintenance. Nothing else really suits me. Being empathic, I have an overwhelming urge to fix things/ people that are broken. Comes with the territory I guess. So the job fits during work hours as well as after hours with those I meet.

Empath as a Filter

Empath

In my situation, I turned the negative energy into positive energy by realizing that I just helped my father in his last days. Seeing this as a good thing and something special is what made the change.

To process negativity out, I goto a place that is quiet and where I feel tranquility and positive energy. There I meditate to expel the unwanted energy and fill up on positive energy.

Can't fight this any more!

Empath

Hi Melissa. With you being sensitive to both the physical and spiritual realms, there's a few things you can do to bring peace. These are shielding, filtering, and shut down. The later being the most difficult. The best way to learn how is to either join the training here or Google how to. The link to the training group is at the top of the page. If I can help anymore, pm me and I'll do my best.

What exactly are you looking for in a pic reading? As empaths, we can only tell you what we feel and what our intuition picks up. Bare in mind, it's not always completely accurate because we pick up on other emotions unknowingly at times.

My advice would be to follow your gut. Your heart can lead you in all kinds of problems, yet your gut won't ever lie to you. Feel him out and listen to your gut, but always remain cautious.

Empath as a Filter

Empath

I was one of those people who thought empathic abilities were to feel/know others feelings and then help them through their issues. This filtration took me by surprise. New levels to the gift I guess. I will always look at this as a gift because I can help others no matter what I have to go through. That's just me though...lol

Empath as a Filter

Empath

I bring this topic up because I've never filtered energy for someone in my years of being an empath. I've always felt what others were feeling and helped accordingly. To actually filter energy for someone is new or maybe I have done it and never noticed until now. Either way, my interest has been raised on this situation.

Empath as a Filter

Empath

Has the thought crossed anyone's mind that an empath sometimes filters out the negativity from the surrounded energy for those who the empath is near? This thought crossed my mind today actually. My father is bed bound and diagnosed with dementia. So you can imagine the negativity. Anyway, I have had the "Blahs" today and couldn't figure out why. As I sat on the porch communing with nature, I got an overwhelming feeling of negative energy flowing into me and being filtered allowing positive to flow onto my father. I also noticed that my dads dementia got better and his bad attitude was gone.

If this has ever happened to any of you or any of you have personal insight on this, I'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance and God bless.

Dreams & Nightmares

Empath

Dreams that repeat are the ones that are trying to tell you something and you haven't gotten the message yet, so they repeat. They can also be memories from ancestors that are recorded in your DNA (has been scientifically proven). There are 2 things that I would do. 1. Write these dreams down and compare their symbolism to your life and see if you can find the message. 2. Do an internet search on gunshot incidences throughout the 40's. You may uncover something there. Dreams like these aren't easy to interrupt and they take some time and effort to figure out. Wish I could tell you more.

Well, if your not having any overloads of emotions coming at you, experiment. Search out this site and Google psychic empathy and see what you can do. Then work on controlling it. Keep everything you can do in the light (positive).

Ok....try this. Go to a place where you normally feel peaceful (a spot in the woods, the local park, a river bank, etc...). Meditate and focus on releasing all of it. Visualize pushing it all out of your head. Remember it's you mind. You have control of it. You allow what goes into it and what doesn't. Take in the sound of your surroundings. I like the woods, so I take in the sound of silence. You can even do this in your bedroom if need be. Also, a lot of times, people force issues into quartz crystal, jars, mirrors (then breaks the mirror), even boxes then buries them. Once they're out, they cleanse their mental state then shield for a while. Surrounds themselves with positive evergy until they feel strong enough to work on control.

Most don't use it because they feel it's an invasion of privacy and it releases the person of their freewill. They feel it's a dark art. Yet, there are those who view it as a good thing and practice it religiously. I won't use it unless it's a severe case (so overloaded with emotions that nothing else works, hysterical, disorientation, etc...). I feel as long as you keep it in the path of light and have personal guidelines set in place, it's ok to use. Just make sure you have the person's permission b4 using it on them or at least let them know what your gonna do.

Deja' Vu: Insight or Do Over?

Empath

I just had a deja' vu moment and it inspired this discussion.

I'm sitting here on my laptop and my 2yo is beside me watching youtube cartoons on my phone. I was just about to post a discussion on psychometery when deja' vu struck. I've been in this exact situation in time before. My thoughts are "Why?".

In your opinion, is deja' vu a time and space within the future that we've dreamed of and forgot until that very moment, or is it God's way of giving us a do over because we made a bad life altering choice the first time? Most of us just pass off these moments as a "wow" or "weird" moment. Have any of you actually sat down and thought about it? Why we have these deja' vu moments.

There is no right or wrong answers to these questions. Really think about it and post your thoughts.

Thank you in advance.

First thing you need to do is shield yourself. This will give you some peace to start controlling it. This is what I call emergency shielding. First, find a quiet place to go. Try to clear your mind as much as possible. Second, take all the emotion that your feeling and push them out to form a shield all around you. Like a force field or bubble. Hold that image. Feel the shield all around you. Feel how all the emotions stop. After this, you need to determine which emotions are yours and which aren't. I hope this gives you some relief so you can learn to control your abilities.

Shielding vs. Filtering

Empath

@ifeeleverything: shielding and filtering is quite simple to do. This technique is what i call an emergency shield. First, sit down in a quiet place. Clear your mind as much as you can. Second, take all the emotions your feeling and push them out to form a shield all around you. Like a force field bubble. Hold this image in your mind. Feel the shield around you. Feel how the emotions just stop. Use the same technique to raise a filter if you choose it instead of the shield. I hope this helps.

Shielding vs. Filtering

Empath

Well if ya think about what the words imply, makes sense. A shield is solid. Protects against anything projected at you. A filter is porice. Weaved together to only let certain things through while keeping unwanted things out. Two different abilities for the empath.

Shielding vs. Filtering

Empath

What is your experience or thoughts on shielding vs filtering? I have found that there is a place for each and a time in which to use each.

Shielding - Shielding is good for a total block and shut down of all incoming emotion. I have found this very useful when an overload occurs. Using this shield give me an opportunity to cleanse myself of the negative emotion that has overloaded me without anymore being added.

Filtering - Filtering is a wonderful technique that I try to implement at all times. Using this filter allows the positive emotions to pass through and filters out the negative allowing me to stay cut off from the drama and allow others to still feel my openness to them.

How Do You Project and Draw?

Empath

There are good and bad in everything and as Marty stated, there is a fine line between help and interference. For this reason, one must institute moral, ethical, and common sense guidelines as to when and how projecting and drawing of emotions should be used. Also, Tam is right; the one who it is being used on should be informed of what you are doing and their permission given. The morality of this ability can be argued til the end of time with no real conclusion. I believe that its a personal choice whether or not one implements it into their practices. Though it can help in severe cases the empath faces when helping others, we have to also face the fact that it can also be taken to the dark side and hurt people as well. Truthfully, it is manipulation of emotions. This is why guidelines MUST be set in place when using this ability. Keep your intentions pure and keep your abilities in the light.

How Do You Project and Draw?

Empath

@RyuukoGo: referred to as "linking". I haven't tried that one. I've read about it. I try to study up on a skill b4 I actually try it. Unless it just happens. It's just my opinion, but I think there's light and dark in all abilities; even just sensing ones emotions. It all can go either way depending on how you use them. Again, that's just opinion. I possess a few abilities through empathy. I want to know it all and keep them in the light and help people.
