Zadkiel, whose name means, Righteousness of God or Prayer of God, is the archangel of Mercy, charity, solace, gentleness, benevolence and is also known as the Holy One and the Angel of Prayer and Affirmation. Zadkiel is the Patron Angel of all who forgive, and with his help you will get stronger feelings of mercy and compassion towards yourself and others. He is also known as Sachiel, Zedekiel, Zadakiel, Tzadkiel, and Zedekul. He is allegedly the angel who stopped Abraham from sacrificing his son Isaac and, therefore, is often pictured with Abraham's dagger in his hand.
He is the head of the Angelic Choirs of the Dominions. Zadkiel's position in the Sephirot is fourth, which corresponds to mercy. He is one of the nine regents of heaven & one of the seven archangels of the divine presence. He is also one of the angels that ministered to Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane. Zadkiel is one of two standard bearers (along with Jophiel) who follow directly behind Michael as the head archangel enters battle.
This loving angel radiates comfort to those who are afraid, wounded or grieving. He also grants good memory. He rules prayer. He also kindles a desire for spiritual development in the human heart. Zadkiel is one of two standard bearers (along with Jophiel) who follow directly behind Michael as the head archangel enters battle. Zadkiel is associated with the color violet. In Jewish mysticism and Western ritual magic, Zadkiel is associated with the planet Jupiter which is the planet that governs the astrological sign of Sagittarius. He is sometimes associated with another angel called Holy Amethyst who together work to help people feel the gift of forgiveness and, thus, elevate theirspirits tothe highervibrations. Together they can help you toclear up Karmic debts and quicken your path to reunification with the Light.
The crystals associated with Zadkiel are Lapis and Amethyst. Through the amethyst crystal, the twin flame of Lord Zadkiel focuses the mother aspect of freedom to the evolutions of this planet. The amethyst is worn by all who serve on the seventh ray and their devotees. All jewels are actually precipitates or condensations of the flame that the jewel focuses. Thus, the amethyst is the focus of the freedom flame, and those jewels that have been consecrated by Lightbearers contain in the center a replica of the flame that they represent.
Archangel Zadkiel describes what he and the ascended hosts see when a devotee of God calls forth the sacred fire of the violet flame:
"We see from inner levels the tremendous effort you make to transmute the layers upon layers of karma you have made in this and past lives. It is truly a marvelous thing for us to behold. In one moment you sit surrounded with every kind of negative thought revolving in your aura. In the next, you decide to invoke the violet flame.
And lo! the mighty power of the seventh ray, as a giant electrode of cosmic energy, begins to form around your person. The violet-flame angels gather around you. With palms outstretched, they direct across your four lower bodies and your aura an arc of the violet ray. As that arc flashes across your being, it vaporizes the negative conditions. They literally disappear from heart and mind!"
Zadkiel refers to the violet flame as the universal solvent that the alchemists have sought throughout the ages. In a fore-runner to modern chemistry, medieval alchemists sought to transmute base metals into gold and to discover a universal cure for disease and a means of prolonging life. In a broader sense, alchemy is defined as a power or process of transforming something common into something special or an inexplicable or mysterious transmuting. Spiritual alchemy is the science of self-transformation.
Archangel Zadkiel says: "I possess in my heart the secrets of alchemy. Invoke them, if you will. And I shall release them to you in answer to your call".

The musical keynote of Holy Amethyst is the on the beautiful "Blue Danube", by Johann Strauss.
